Mare Nostrum apartments in the centre of Alcossebre, Spain

The Mare Nostrum apartments in Alcossebre have three bedrooms and sleep up to 8 people. They sit right in the town centre (Carrer del Barquer, 8), a 2-minute walk from Cargador beach, with a lift and a shared pool.

The Mare Nostrum apartments in Alcossebre are one of the few holiday rentals in town designed for eight people under one roof without giving up a central location. From the front door you can walk to Cargador beach, the café terraces, the supermarkets and the seafront promenade, so the car can stay parked all week.

They are managed by Casa Azahar, the Alcossebre holiday rental agency, which has several flats of this kind in the building. Each one is decorated a little differently, but they all share the same layout and facilities.

What the Mare Nostrum apartments are like

Every Mare Nostrum apartment has three bedrooms: one with a double bed and two with twin beds, plus a sofa bed in the living room. That means up to eight people can stay in reasonable comfort, which is hard to find in a town-centre flat.

If you'd like to see the layout in more detail and how a group of eight can split up, we explain it in apartments for groups and large families.

Pool and sun terrace in the heart of town

The development has a shared outdoor pool, open in season, with a sun terrace. It's a rare treat just a couple of minutes from the sea: beach in the morning, and a dip in the late afternoon without having to get in the car.

A town-centre building with a seaside feel

Alcossebre (Alcalà de Xivert, Castellón) has kept the scale of a small coastal town. From Mare Nostrum you have a supermarket, restaurants, bars, a chemist, a medical centre, banks and small shops just a few metres away. In summer the centre is full of life, and out of season it's a peaceful place for a stroll.

The location also lets you walk to the seafront, the Senda Litoral coastal boardwalk leading to Romana beach and, if you enjoy a longer walk, towards the marina and the lighthouse, on the doorstep of the Serra d'Irta Natural Park. We cover it step by step in our guide to things to do in Alcossebre on foot, and in staying in the centre of Alcossebre you'll find how to get here and which services are nearby.

Who it suits (and who it doesn't)

Mare Nostrum works really well for large families, for several generations travelling together and for groups of adult friends who want to share a home in the centre. Casa Azahar does not let it to groups of young people and, as in all its buildings, pets are not allowed.

If you're after more independence, a private garden and a barbecue, our groups page compares Mare Nostrum with the Villas Sunset, three-bedroom villas 400 metres from Cargador beach.
